Team agreements: how do you want to BE together?
I received this lovely photo from my 3-year old’s preschool teacher today. After reading a book called “10 Rules for Being a Superhero” they talked about expectations for how to BE together everyday, as classmates, captured here.
I’ve been supporting a few different teams lately in creating similar group agreements - what they’re willing to commit to in their day-to-day interactions with each other.
This remarkable list from Milo’s class has so many good applications for our grown-up team health. Respect, jumping in to help, acknowledging feelings (yes - at work), the power of rest. And I’d be remiss if I didn’t mention my favorite - “Clean up if you make a mess.” ❤️ Ownership, accountability, trust building. More of this!
What are 1-2 behaviors that you’d insist on including in your team agreements?
(And if you haven’t already, encourage your team to set aside some time in an upcoming meeting to discuss each person’s additions- the positive impacts are well worth the time)!
